People in our lives come and go and many relationships don’t last forever. A lot of people would use spending as their way of coping with a broken heart, but this could lead to a problem with the bank and a credit card lawsuit. Instead of sulking around and spending all the money you have, there are a few other ways to mend a broken heart without breaking your bank account.
Delete them from your contacts
You really don’t what to know what you ex is up too or if they’ve gone and replaced you with someone else. Social media has made the world smaller, and everyone is joining in the bandwagon of posting where they are and what they’re up to on these sites. This makes people easier to spot and you really don’t want to obsess about what they’re currently during right now.
Reconnect with your old friends
Most of the time, we tend to sacrifice our time with our friends so that we can work on our romantic relationship. Now that time is in your hands, call up a friend or a few of them and meet up somewhere you use to hang out. Do the things you use to do with them like nights out, watching movies, dinners, the usual. Your friends can talk you out of misery and lift you up again, but don’t wallow in sadness and get over it.
Volunteer in the community
Help someone out of a change. Becoming close to your community and doing what you can to make it a better place is a better feeling than going on a shopping spree and regretting spending all that money. Try to check the local paper to see what’s going on and how you can help.
Work, work, work
One of the best distractions that you can use is work. Work hard and manage your money carefully when your broken hearted. Focus on your career and get your head out of the past and into the future. You could finally get that promotion you’ve always wanted and start climbing up the corporate ladder.
Take a break
Go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go and stay there for a week or so. Just because you’re spending, doesn’t mean you have to go all out on your trip. Remember, you want to get away but you don’t want to go home to a credit card lawsuit. Budget means everything, no matter what state your heart is in.
